This article recently was released & this journal is in response to it….praise Jesus!
May step on toes, but it does me none. I speak truth, because I speak the Word of God. My beliefs do not matter whatsoever. God’s word trumps them all.
To what authority does the Catholic Church have to say mortal sin vs. venial sin? I grew up learning these terms, I’ve shamefully taught these terms, and I have practiced these terms on & off with a heavy burden that was an endless battle. To what authority does the pope or priest have to play as Jesus to give us permission to be forgiven at all from any sin?
Try finding mortal sin or venial sin in the bible and let me know if you find anything?
You won’t….because the Catholic Church created and broke their beliefs of sin into 2 categories.
Jesus says a sin is a sin….though some actions & consequences of sin can be more harmful, cause more damage, and may be more vile than others, a sin is still a sin. God will judge all sins, not just some; also through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross he died for all sins, forgiving us of the old and bringing in newness, which means you are a new creation by accepting Him. You don’t repent and ask for forgiveness to receive it. You repent because Jesus has already forgiven you, has given you a new life, has won the battle over sin that used to dictate your life, and says follow me & sin no more! You can only experience that through Jesus, not any man on this Earth.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved, kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrafice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” Romans 3:23-26
It’s right there.
My intention isn’t to stear you away from the Catholic faith, but to encourage you to seek godly wisdom on your own by seeking truth for yourselves.
I understand what the pope is trying to do. He is encouraging more people to be loving towards all, which is true & good; but what God is speaking through me to you is that you don’t need to seek this approval from a church or people, or even from Him at all. He already approves of YOU as a person, loves YOU for who you are, the only thing he hates is SIN and the damage it causes!! Know the difference. I want nothing more for you all to live the life you were destined to live by the grace & mercy from our loving Father.
Stay bold, stay courageous, & stand firm on the Word of God and not the word of man….
