Skipping Rocks

She skips a rock…
She watches as it bounces on and off the surface.
She sinks her fingers into the cold, wet substance and picks up another one.
She hears someone coming and looks back.
She sees him in the distance.
So mysterious and handsome,
With a crooked smile
That always makes her giddy inside.
She laughs to herself,
Because his outfit looks ridiculous,
But he’s still good looking as ever.
They walk along the rocky beach,
And play and skip rocks together,
As though doing things together came natural and easy.
How she enjoyed that moment of time very much.
