Hebrews 2:17-18

“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” Hebrews 2: 17-18

Wow, read this just now and it sunk in my heart just how human Jesus was. Jesus had to live a life just like us to know what we go through day-to-day, and all throughout life. This means He had to feel emotions like us, suffer pain like us, and go through temptations that make living sometimes a little hard JUST like us. He was able to bring sinners and broken people to the light, because He knew how they were feeling and had ALL the answers to help them through. He humbled Himself to walk a journey on this Earth to help us, because he loves us beyond measure. This is why He is so merciful, He is understanding of our struggles. Aren’t you merciful to people that may be rude or angry, because someone or something has wronged them? When we know the person’s story and the reason behind the attitude, we are more patient, kind, caring, and loving towards them, because we understand that they have been through something dramatic and we have all been there. We get that from Jesus, and how lucky we are that God wanted to understand the difficulties of living on Earth to better understand us, His creation, His people. What a beautiful story? We truly are so blessed to have a God that loves us so much and unconditionally. Thank you Father!
